Arena Groomers
Choosing the right arena groomer is essential for maintaining synthetic surfaces. While many options are available, not all deliver the same quality of results. A well-designed groomer blends footing materials, breaks up compacted areas, and compresses the ground to create a balanced surface—firm enough for traction yet cushioned for movement and energy return.
Before purchasing, it’s important to consider your towing vehicle. The groomer’s width and weight must match your setup for seamless operation. A good rule of thumb is to select a groomer that extends 8″ to 12″ beyond your towing vehicle’s wheel track. This prevents visible tire marks in turns and ensures you can groom right up to the edge without feeling squeezed against the walls.
With the right equipment, maintaining your arena becomes effortless and efficient, keeping footing in prime condition for peak performance.

Rollers
A rear roller is vital for repacking the footing once it has been mixed. Adding a front roller enhances stability and provides improved leveling performance.
Tines and Teeth
Groomers can be fitted with different tines or teeth, each serving a specific purpose. Ripper teeth or S‑tines break up compacted footing, lift deeper layers to the surface, and mix them thoroughly. Coil tines help work fibers back into the sand from the surface while also smoothing out grooves left by ripper teeth or S‑tines.
Levelling Bar
A levelling bar can be added to create a smooth finish before the final roller compaction. Choose bars without teeth, as toothed versions tend to collect fibers rather than distribute them evenly.
Swivel Hitch
A swivel hitch allows the groomer to pivot independently of the tractor, similar to how a trailer moves. This prevents sideways drift during turns and helps maintain a consistent, level surface.
Adjustment
Adjustability is essential for any groomer. Tines wear down over time, so the ability to fine‑tune their position is important before replacement. Likewise, the working depth of teeth and tines should be adjustable to accommodate both deep grooming sessions and lighter, more frequent finishing passes
